Concord Public Library held its annual Chinese New Year celebration on Monday Feb. 4. It is the Year of the Pig, 2019. Parents brought their children to experience Chinese calligraphy, pig drawing, a chopstick game, lantern making, and a spectacular lion dance.
One Tribe Martial Arts studio of Concord provided a jaw-dropping lion dance performance and student demonstrations. Every child present received a red envelope and learned the receiving ritual. On Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, children bow to their parents and receive lucky money in a red envelope. Happy Chinese New Year. Gongxi, Gongxi.
